The Region is also known as the Elephant Coast in the northeast of the KwaZulu-Natal Province. An astonishingly beautiful strip of land stretching some 220km long and 70km wide bound by mountains, ocean and bushveld.
Lake St Lucia is a 65km long estuarine system with a total area of 330km. The iSimangaliso Wetland Park, previously known as the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, was declared a World Heritage Site on December 1, 1999. With a surface of 32,800 hectares, the Park is considered the second largest in South Africa. The iSimangaliso Wetland Park also holds many of Nature's miracles and secrets, providing you an unspoilt ecotourism playground with an untamed spirit.
